Baltimore Kings News Release - www.baltimorekings.com Monday November 21, 2016 BALTIMORE, MD - As the year comes to a close, the Baltimore Kings are already busy preparing for their upcoming 2017 season. Over the past year, the Kings have received a warm reception from the Baltimore Metro Area and optimistically look forward to what the future holds in store for the club. In 2017 Baltimore Kings Pro Soccer Club will include the following teams:
PRO MEN’S TEAM THE SCOUTING PROCESS Players within our organization go through a very structured player scouting process. It's important that interested players understand the process and the importance of timing. The following are the steps you can take on the path to joining our club:
Once tryouts have concluded, players will be contacted with the selection results. Players who have been selected to represent the Baltimore Kings will be offered a contract detailing their base pay and a commission structure (signed players who play in the game will also receive a tryout refund - detailed in contract). Players who are not selected will remain in our player scouting database and will be encouraged to attend future tryouts. The signed Pro Team players will begin training the week leading up to their weekend game. In the months leading up the game, the club will market the event and work to create a great atmosphere surrounding the match. The game will be filmed and shortly after the match, highlights and the full-length game film will be posted online and distributed to each player for their own use. Once the game is played, players will be paid and are free to join or rejoin any team they would like. We will market our players and (if desired) help push them towards full-time professional opportunities with other clubs. Once a player has played for our Pro Team, they will remain in our Pro Player Pool and will be considered for a “call up” for future games (similar to National Team duty for international soccer). As an independent, event-based team, the Pro Team will only play a handful of games per year (e.g. 1 game in the summer, 1 in the fall, 1 in the spring, etc.). TIMING Our primary way of identifying and evaluating potential players is through our tryouts. It is imperative that interested players keep track of and attend our tryouts. Do not wait until the last minute to contact us. If you contact our staff only a few weeks before our game, we will have already completed signing players for that upcoming match. COMPETITION As an Independent, the Pro Team will be allowed to play other Independents and teams across all divisions. MISSION We will take a conservative, controlled, and personal approach to win one supporter at a time and build a successful professional soccer club in Charm City. In Baltimore's history, there have been over 20 failed professional soccer clubs. Professional soccer leagues in the United States currently do not allow for promotion and relegation among teams. Even in years immediately after winning a championship, clubs have folded. Unlike other league systems around the world, winning does not ensure longevity. Success on the field is one of many objectives for the Baltimore Kings, but more importantly it is paramount to create and maintain a strong foundation to base our achievements. SEMI-PRO MEN’S FUTSAL TEAM The Semi-Pro Futsal Team will return for their second season in 2017. The 2017 campaign will be broken up into two seasons: Open Cup Season (January - February) and Summer Season (May - July). Players on the Semi-Pro Futsal Team do not get paid, but those selected to the team will have team expenses paid for by the club. The team is made up of former pro players, current pro players looking to prepare for their upcoming pro seasons, and aspiring professionals. Interested players must have previous futsal experience, an understanding of basic passing patterns, and exceptional technical ability. U-23 MEN’S TEAM Players who are still in college and would not like to forfeit their NCAA eligibility have the opportunity to join our U-23 Team. Our U-23 Team meets throughout the summer from late May through July during the summer break. The U-23 Team play as an Independent against other top semi-pro and amateur teams in the area, serving as a player pool of college and amateur players that we will look to potentially sign to the Pro Team. Playing with U-23’s is also a great way to prepare players for their upcoming collegiate preseason. WOMEN’S TEAM

College players on our Women’s Team will remain NCAA eligibility. The Baltimore Kings Pro Team will operate as an independent, event-based club and will play their first professional game in the Summer of 2017. Baltimore soccer fans, First off, thank you for the support thus far, as we have received a great initial response and support following our announcement yesterday! Given some feedback from our fans, we'd like to answer several questions. Pro Team League? The Baltimore Kings Pro Team will begin play in 2017 as an Independent, allowing us to play teams across all domestic and international leagues. As posted yesterday, in Baltimore's history, there have been over 20 failed professional soccer clubs. Professional soccer leagues in the United States currently do not allow for promotion and relegation among teams. Even in years immediately after winning a championship, clubs have folded. Unlike other league systems around the world, winning does not ensure longevity. We will take a conservative, controlled, and personal approach to win one supporter at a time and build a successful professional soccer club in Charm City. Our Independent status is not necessarily permanent, as our approach requires checkpoints along the way to the final destination. Where will the Pro Team play? We have been conducting research in Baltimore to help determine the viability of different locations throughout Greater Baltimore to be the future home for the Baltimore Kings Pro Team. Previous professional teams have played in the city, Catonsville, Essex, Dundalk, Owings Mills, and Northern Anne Arundel County. Economic, demographic, and interest factors from different locations will be accessed in making our decision. Pro Team & U-23 Tryouts? Although the Pro Team will not begin play until 2017, our U-23 Team will begin play in the Summer of 2016. We also have competitive teams that enter cash-prize tournaments and recreational teams for men and women under the name Mobtown FC (See Below). Players on the U-23 Team will not be paid, thus retaining their NCAA eligibility. The U-23 Team will utilize collegiate players home for summer as well as elite amateur players with professional aspirations. More information regarding our U-23 Winter Open Tryouts will be released later this week. Until then, all interested players are asked to fill out a Contact Form by following this link. Mobtown FC The Baltimore Kings will operate competitive and recreational men's and women's teams under the name Mobtown FC. Mobtown FC will meet throughout the week and is open to players of all skill-levels. Players will be selected from this player pool to field teams to enter local cash-prize and recreational tournaments. If a Mobtown FC player stands out to Baltimore Kings' staff, they will have the opportunity to trial and train with the U-23 and Pro Teams. All interested players are asked to fill out a Contact Form by following this link. We are grateful that Charm City has been so receptive and embraced our vision. We will also be announcing several "Meet & Greets" with Baltimore Kings executives in the upcoming weeks. Baltimore Kings Pro Soccer Club is a new pro soccer club in Baltimore, MD.
